RSRP, RSRQ, RSSI & SNR value for 4G, 5G in good, poor coverage area?

In 4G (LTE) and 5G networks, RSRP, RSRQ, RSSI and SNR are key radio parameters used to measure signal strength and quality. The values vary based on whether the coverage is good or poor.

1. RSRP (Reference Signal Received Power)

  • Measures the power of LTE/NR Reference signals.
  • A more negative value indicates weaker coverage.

2. RSRQ (Reference Signal Received Quality)

  • Represents the quality of the received signal.
  • Calculated as RSRP/RSSI and affected by interference and congestion.

3. RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator)

  • Measures total received power, including interference and noise.
  • Not a direct measure of signal quality.

4. SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio)

  • Definition: SNR represents the ratio of the desired signal power to the noise (interference). Higher SNR indicates better signal quality.

4G (LTE) & 5G (NR):

  • Good Coverage: 20 dB to 30 dB
  • Poor Coverage: 10 dB to 15 dB
